India by far is the best country in the field of agriculture for we are blessed with sunshine round the year which is a vital tool for growing the crops. It is the main source of employment, food security,ecological stability,livelihood and nutrition. We have an arable land of 168 million hectares,second only to US in agricultural size.A well-developed agricultural research system, a significant area of almost 60 million hectares under irrigation and an increasing productivity in major crops enable Indian agriculture to become a globally competitive player. The United Nations estimates that with assured irrigation, India's food grains output can increase SIX times within five years- enough to feed two planet Earths! Indian Agriculture by its sheer size can dictate global markets directly and indirectly. Majority of rural population still is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood and over 600 million farmers involved in agriculture related activities. India has 52% of cultivable land and varied climates.The irony is knowing all this we are not doing anything to save the deteriorating scenario of this life saving tool we have. We are focussing all the energies on urbanization, lessening the agricultural land and creating more demand of food supply with the increasing population. It is a matter of sincere regret that we, the people of land , we dont know the importance of agriculture to us which since time immemorial is in our blood for all our ancestors reaped the fruits and flourished after working on this fertile land of our country. But nothing is lost now we still have hope,all we need is to put brains in this field besides manual gruelling. Infact various steps are being initiated by the government ,all we have to do is be aware of them and contribute our share to the agriculture system. the young brains have to come and recognize the potential in this field. It is not the profession of down trodden , it is where the wealth really is, because the basic requirement of each and every human being is food and it will be always there so why not appreciate farming and agriculture.

We still are not behind many of the counterparts, we still lead by being the largest producer of wheat,rice,tea,coffee,cotton ,among the largest producers of vegetable oil economies in the world. India is the secont largest producer of fruits in the world and lead in the production of milk all around the world.

The technology should invade in the scenario seeing that the balance is not disturbed between manual labour and machines as well as respecting the ecology. This technological advancements should reach on the door steps of all the farmers and villagers.The productivity of the farms should be increased by adopting the best techniques available and being open to these advancements.

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto;
